I made this poster in Infinite Painter, a digital drawing mobile app. I started with making the lineart of the subject. Then, I added eyebrows, a moustache and colouring the iris.

The second part was my favourite - adding skin colour and shading! 

I started with the base skin colour, adding shadows in order from darkest to lightest. Finally, for the skin I added a highlight layer and background for the eyes.

For the bandana, I was the same process, creating a base colour and adding shadows progressively from darkest to the lightest.

Finally for the shirt! 

This was one of my favourite part in creating this illustration. I started with the base colours, followed by shading and sectioning (for the outer shirt). For the pattern, I made some scribbles which I didn't think would come out nice, but they kinda did in the end.

After finalising the illustration in Infinite Painter, I exported it as a PSD and opened it up in Adobe Photoshop.

The original idea was to create a text-based background for the illustration, but after careful consideration, I decided to go with a GTA 5 feel. I used a font similar to the GTA 5 one called Pricedown and got started.

The text behind the subject is "Makaveli", a nickname for 2Pac. I then added a stroke to the subject,  to add more focus to the character. Finally, I colour corrected with the Camera Raw filter and created 2 other versions - one with a dark grey background, and another with a maroon tint.
